I happened to inherit a ton of old magazines from my Mom recently and I've been trying to decide what to do with them. My usual go to magazine crafts are typically paper flowers, but I decided to do a little more (or less, really).
If you didn't know, magazines are full of words, big and small (now you know!). They are also full of pictures, but I chose to focus on the word art instead. What I came up with are some pretty sweet - and CHEAP gift wrap decorations. You can stick with a Christmas theme and find Christmas-y words, or you can go outside the holiday box a little and use any word that you want (or that fits your gift/person receiving). You could also choose some pictures to cut out and use too. There are many possibilities!
This first do it yourself gift wrap option is pretty "Awesome" if I must say so myself.
And, I absolutely "Love" this next diy gift wrap, using nothing but plain white printer paper (you could even use colored paper - or any kind, really!), and word art from a recycled magazine.
You can use this cut and paste method to create your own wrapping paper.
Or, you can just use some plain white paper and a marker to draw your own design. Some things I learned from this project:
I learned just how easy and inexpensive it can be to make your own holiday wrapping paper
and
I learned that I need to brush up on my bow drawing skills :)
Happy Holidays!
